Ultraman and many of his fellow Ultras were the featured attraction in Times Square and Grand Central Station in New York City at the TAMASHII NATIONS WORLD TOUR 2023 celebrating 15 years of high-quality action figure collecting!

This is the first of several events that Tamashii Nations is hosting around the world.

For Ultraman Fans, Grand Central Station is where you wanted to be! For the first time in our memory, a human-sized S.H. Figuarts Ultraman C-Type was on display, complete with light up eyes and Color Timer. The statue sports the same articulation joints as his 6-inch counterpart, allowing him to be placed into his signature Spacium Beam pose.

Also on display were two cases filled with Ultra awesomeness! These were not just any Ultraman figures but some of the most anticipated prototypes of upcoming future products

For example, with the final season of the Netflix Anime ULTRAMAN just days away, Tamashii Nations is giving the fans what they’ve been waiting for, a complete lineup of the Ultraman Suit team. Standing front and center is Ultraman Suit, by his left is Ultraman Suit Ver 7, and by his right is Ultraman Suit Taro back center.

The all-new Suit Zoffy on the rear left, Ultraman Suit Jack far back, and Ultraman Suit Ace on the rear right make their first US appearances! These figures look absolutely stunning, capturing all the details from the anime and bringing the characters out into our world! The S.H. Figuarts line typically consists of several accessories, but none were present with these prototypes, so we’re curious to see what bonuses will be in store for us collectors for these upcoming releases.

The prototype of Ultraman Suit Jack was also revealed. The figure is now available for Pre-Order on the Bandai Premium Japan website for 9000 yen or roughly $75 and will later be available for US retailers. This figure is expected to be released in September 2023 in Japan and in November 2023 for the US.

For the classic live action Ultraman display, several of our favorites can be seen on display, with figures touching on each of the three Ultraman eras. For the Showa and now Marvel era, we see Ultraman C-Type. Heisei era consists of Ultraman Dyna and Ultraman Mebius, and the current Reiwa era is represented by Ultraman Decker and Absolute Tartarus.

Taking the top shelf is the man himself, the event exclusive S.H. Figuarts Ultraman from Marvel’s The Rise of Ultraman comic book miniseries. This figure made his debut at New York Comic Con 2022 and on rare occasions is made available in limited quantities at events like this Tamashii Nations World Tour.

The long awaited fan favorite, Ultraman Mebius with his signature Mebium Blade takes the second shelf and joins the popular S.H. Figuarts line. The pose looks so close to his onscreen appearance. Can’t wait to finally get a detailed and poseable Mebius into the collection!

Absolute Tartarus, the villain of the Ultra Galaxy Series in his S.H. Figuarts' form looks absolutely stunning in his gold and silver paint! The seams are well hidden by his armor making him very screen accurate.

We get both the S.H. Figuarts of Ultraman Decker Flash Type and the Figuarts mini along with the Figuarts mini Kanata Asumi. I am still amazed how Tamashii Nations pulled off the galaxy print on his chest and forehead! It’s perfect!

And on the final shelf is none other than the top tier of the S.H. Figuarts line, the Shinkocchou Seihou Ultraman Dyna Flash Type! Being part of the TDG 25th anniversary celebration, it is a huge treat to welcome Ultraman Dyna into this elite line of action figures, where the suit actor’s body was 3D scanned allowing the figure proportions on the sculpt of the figure to be near identical to the suit actor but made into a 6-inch or 15-centimeter figure. Being a TDG fanatic, it will definitely be a highlight to get this Dyna figure into the collection!
